Belt Promotion

Dear Gulf Breeze Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Family,

Please join us for the upcoming Belt Promotional on Saturday Nov 7th here at Gulf Breeze Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu School! 

Unlike some other martial arts, promotion in BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) is considered to be very strict and difficult to progress through. In some other martial arts, you could be promoted after just a few weeks, with very little requirements/skills. Also, progress is never linear. You may spend years at one belt and only one year at another. It is one of the most challenging martial arts; hence belt promotions are highly respected in BJJ.

For all students, being promoted is one of the most rewarding moments of their BJJ journey. It means that you’ve overcome many physical and mental challenges and that you’ve proven yourself skill wise. Although it may seem that your professor isn’t testing you, he is probably watching your every move, especially if he deems you worthy of a promotion. He will probably ask you to spar with someone of a higher rank/bigger size. From this spar, he will gauge whether or not you have demonstrated a high level of accuracy and efficiency according to your belt level or higher.

Switched from another Jitzu academy and soon felt home in a family oriented and friendly environment. The building is spacious and always clean. Lots of parking spots available and definitely worth the drive. All professors are extremely knowledgeable and guide both adults and kids throughout the Bjj journey. I’m super happy I’ve found this place and think is definitely the best in the Panhandle. It takes us about 40 min to get here but is definitely worth the drive!!!
Quick update.
I can truly say this has been the best decision I’d ever made for my kids and myself!!! I can finally see them improving their jiujitsu game day after day and most importantly be happy to be on the mat.I’d never thought I’d come back to train due to the previous experience but thanks to the expertise and patience of the Professors and team my passion and smile are back!This is our family. Clean,friendly and professional environment where respect is a priority!!
