Bruno started in judo at age 6, where he trained until he was 12, at age 12 he started in Jiu jitsu at the Kawamura association under the command of the late master Banni Cavalcanti (Coral Belt), when the association resigned at 18 he continued under the command of professor Jair Lourenço at the newly founded Kimura academy, from where he started his sports career, winning several state and regional titles in the north northeast of Brazil.
He got his black belt by professor Bruno Ramos, in 2014, in 2015 Bruno joined the Checkmat team under the command of the Barreto Brothers, who started a large project to expand the Checkmat in the northeast of Brazil, this project yielded great results, such as several general titles per team throughout the northeast region.
In 2016 Bruno came to the United States with the intention to compete in the biggest events in world, Pan American and World IBJJF, at that time he took the opportunity to compete the most prestigious events of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) throughout the country and thus crossed with around 16 states, competing in several cities in the country and ended the season with some important titles such as medalist in the World, Pan American and American National NOGI. Also he won the category and absolute of Ibjjf Professional with cash prizes and another 42 titles international under the Ibjjf, still reaching the 11th place in the ranking when an injury made him stop for a period of 6 months.
Bruno was invited by the UFC fighter, George Sullivan to partner in his gym and so he managed to implement his Jiu jitsu program, thus founding the Checkmat New Jersey, from which it obtained good results, with students competing everywhere. 
Unfortunately after the Covid pandemic due to the economic crisis things became difficult to maintain the school and that's how Bruno received the proposal from Professors Chico and Janilson to come work with them on the big and ambitious projects they have for Jiu Jitsu around Panhandle area.
